Terms of Use
These Terms govern your use of Salah Reminder, a service operated by Adeeba Zaki in British Columbia, Canada. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
The service
Salah Reminder is a free prayer-time, reminder, and prayer-history application. It calculates prayer times using your chosen location and calculation preferences, schedules local device notifications, and synchronizes selected account data.
Prayer-time methodology and limitations
Times are calculated locally with the third-party open-source Adhan JavaScript library using the location and settings you select. Our Prayer-Time Methodology explains the methods, Asr and twilight options, and the precise boundaries the app uses for reminders and history. By using the service, you understand that those product boundaries do not settle differing religious opinions.
Device settings, battery restrictions, Focus modes, operating-system behaviour, connectivity, clock settings, and software failures can delay or prevent notifications. You remain responsible for observing prayer and should not rely on a notification as the only way to determine prayer time.
Accounts
You must provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and notify us of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity through your account. The service is not directed to children under 13; younger users should use it only with appropriate parent or guardian involvement.
Acceptable use
You may not misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with its operation, probe or circumvent security, automate abusive authentication requests, upload unlawful material, impersonate another person, or use the service in a way that violates applicable law or another person’s rights.
Availability and changes
We may maintain, modify, suspend, or discontinue features. We aim to provide a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Because the app is provided free of charge, features and service providers may change as the project develops.
Intellectual property
Salah Reminder’s original software, design, branding, text, and visual materials are owned by Adeeba Zaki or used under applicable licences. These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app for its intended purpose.
Account termination and deletion
You may stop using the service or permanently delete your account at any time through Account → Delete account. You may also follow the instructions on the account-deletion page. We may restrict or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, or address serious or repeated misuse.
Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted availability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or warranties that cannot legally be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Adeeba Zaki and Salah Reminder will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from the service, missed or delayed notifications, loss of data, unauthorized account access, or reliance on calculated prayer times. These limitations do not apply where liability cannot legally be limited.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in British Columbia will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live.
Changes and contact
We may update these Terms and will revise the effective date. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide notice where appropriate. Questions can be sent to support@salahreminder.app.
